Totally, but it's a maximum of four members in each team. You can bring your own team (as long as everyone registers for the event) or you can come to a team formation event during the hackathon and try to find team members who you feel like you want to work with. If this is not something you are interested in you can also work alone, but we encourage teams for the spirit of the hackathon.

Yes, we are following the MLH Code of Conduct.

To participate please sign up at hacknyu.org. Find a team during team formation. Then during the weekend, work on your project and attend workshops that might help with your project. Submit it on devpost during the submission period (on Sunday). We will announce winners Sunday afternoon.

Yes! Schedule is posted above. The hackathon will kick off on Friday at 5pm and hacking starts at 5:30pm. Most of the events will happen Friday and Saturday. Sunday will be used for judging and presentations.

We have a discord server! The link to join is at top of this website along with our devpost, you can join anytime during the weekend. We will also be posting links to events such as workshops in the discord during the scheduled time.

No zoom link for the entire hackathon! We will have a discord server where you can interact with organizers, sponsors, or hackers. There will be zoom links posted in the discord for workshops throughout the duration of the hackathon but those are totally optional. You can join the discord and hack throughout the weekend however you want, either stick around for workshops or work offline, whatever works best for you. But we encourage you to attend workshops to learn new tools you might use in your projects.

We are using discord to communicate and share announcements and links for scheduled workshops/events. We are using Zoom for workshops and gather.town for team formation. Individual links for events will be shared on discord.

You do not have to be online the whole weekend! We will send a discord link for you to join and check in. Then you can start your project and hack with your team however you'd like. Throughout the event, you can attend workshops on zoom during the scheduled time when you are available. Event links will shared on discord.

We have a lot of beginners (around 80%)! Any project can be made without code, or limited code. Join us for fun, and maybe try your shot at winning a prize! Or just join us for some workshops and practice new skills.
