I feel that forced positive attitude has a worse effect on me than sad posts. It’s hard for people without mental illnesses to understand that.

When you're struggling, the random person you are not acquainted with saying "pm me" is generally not comforting, and I don't like seeing it thrown at people who post looking to get an honest discussion. We're all damaged, and having an open support group is better than a one-on-one most of the time.

Here’s the truth: there isn’t really one canonical path to UX. It’s less of a paved road than going into the wilderness and learning by doing (and failing, which you also learn from). People generally say “find a mentor” because the advice I might give to you is highly predicated on what you already know and what your goals are. There’s not a formula.
